The Core Module is providing some in memory features to reduce the BIRT workload by storing important data for reuse and reorganization purposes. 

The Data Manager module provides some scripting functions to include SQL processing for running 

• ETL Processes 
• Manage Forms
• Handle parameterized SQL statements to bring this workload into the database
